HOLY WEEK ACTIVITIES IN RIBADAVIA

These are the activities taking place during Holy Week in Ribadavia.

IV RIBADAVIA MAGIC FESTIVAL

Magic for all audiences

From April 17 to 20, the fourth edition of the Illusionism Festival “Ribadavia Máxica” will take place, transforming the town’s streets, churches, and cultural venues into a truly magical stage. The schedule begins on Thursday, April 17, with a family magic session by Pablo Estévez at the Church of A Magdalena (6:00 p.m.), followed by the “Impromptu Magic” show by the Magos de Garda at Pintamonas (7:00 p.m.), and later at The Boot (8:00 p.m.), in a version for audiences aged 16 and up.

Friday, April 18, includes children’s magic with Meiga Belmonte (12:00 p.m.) and a new talent contest at the Casa da Cultura Auditorium (6:00 p.m.), where the audience will choose the winner. In the evening, José Rivera presents his close-up magic show “En tus manos” at Restaurante Plaza (11:00 p.m.), and the Magos de Garda will offer two sessions of “Impromptu Magic”, one at Kopa (8:00 p.m.) and another at Meu (12:30 a.m.), both for ages 16 and up.

Saturday, April 19, starts with a children’s magic workshop with Mago Deimi (10:30 a.m.), followed by a family show by Patri Zenner and her performance “The Magic of Nature” (12:30 p.m.), both at the Church of A Magdalena. The grand magic gala will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the auditorium, featuring Víctor Cerro, Patri Zenner, and José Rivera, hosted by Pablo Estévez. The day will end with sessions of “Magia Golfa”, for adults, by the Magos de Garda, first at Garden (9:30 p.m.) and later at Berlin 2.0 (12:15 a.m.), shows recommended for ages 18 and over.

On Sunday, April 20, the program closes with a conference by Jon Zabal titled “Mentalism” at the Church of A Magdalena, aimed at fellow magicians, starting at 10:30 a.m. An advance ticket is required to attend. The same applies to the Magic Stew, which will conclude Ribadavia’s Holy Week magic activities. This is an exclusive event for magicians, to be held at Restaurante Plaza, with prior reservation required.

Throughout the festival, there will also be a magical photocall, where visitors can take pictures. The Magos de Garda will be entertaining the streets with their tricks. They will wear a magical doll on their shirts to identify themselves as the official wizards and witches, and anyone who approaches them can request a trick and be amazed by their magic.
